Stephen Curry was pretty emotional in the moment that Draymond Green was ejected, but being the champion and the competitor that he is, he used those emotions and played a solid game, finishing it with one of his iconics "night night" daggers. After the match, Steph talked to the media and shared his thoughts about the game.
The Golden State Warriors faced the Orlando Magic in a Florida road trip that began yesterday with their win against a Miami Heat team depleted by injuries. Tonight they faced a different beast, Orlando has been one of the league's best defensive teams throughout the entire season. A young, hungry team that can give any team in the league a run for their money.
Perhaps that's why Steph was so frustrated after Green got ejected almost as soon as the game started. However, and thanks to a great team effort, the Warriors won the match. After the showdown, Curry was interviewed and when asked about Draymond, he answered:
"All I'm gonna say is that we need him, he knows that. We all know that so whatever it takes to keep him on the floor, him being available, that's what's got to happen, especially at this point of the year so...It was a tough way to start the game but I'm extremely proud of every single person that stepped foot on the floor tonight and responded the way they did."
"Back-to-back game against a team as physical as they (Orlando) are...we got contributions from everybody. It was a beautiful team effort to respond the way they did and get this win."
And then added: "We know how important this season is, this part of the season and our ability to get into our rhythm and secure a play-in opportunity and give ourselves a shot. We don't wanna have self-inflicted wounds when it comes to that. We all care, we all are passionate about the game and our chance to have something to play down the stretch so...give everything you've got to this game. That's the emotion," concluded the 4-time NBA Champion.
