"I told Dray, that might be one of the best plays I’ve ever seen in my career.” - Chris on Dray’s clutch block 🤝
The Golden State Warriors scored an important 104-100 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, giving them their fifth consecutive win and helping them hold onto the tenth seed in the Western Conference.
The game remained tight in the fourth quarter but a crucial clutch block of Daniel Gafford by Draymond Green helped seal the deal for the Warriors.
After the game, Chris Paul spoke about Green's block and just how important it was.
"I told Dray, 'That might be one of the best plays I done ever seen in my career, and I'm not exaggerating, man,'" Paul said.
He then spoke at length about what Green brings to the team:
"If you just see, the heart, somebody like me who likes defense, I can appreciate. It's well-documented, me and Dray's relationship before I got here. It's something to see night in and night out. He will us to this win tonight."
Green's block was indeed a major part of the team's success and it reminded fans what Green does for his Warriors. He comes with plenty of baggage and controversy, of course, but he is inarguably one of the best defenders in the NBA.
The Warriors' win not only helped them remain the tenth seed but it also snapped Dallas' seven-game winning streak.
It's somewhat surprising to see Paul praise Green in such as way, as these two players used to be bitter enemies for much of their careers. But they have come together and grown close during their time on the same team and now they not only seem like happy teammates, but true friends too.
