The NBA has taken disciplinary action against Rudy Gobert, the Minnesota Timberwolves' star player, fining him $100,000. This action stems from his comments and actions directed toward the referees during and after his team's loss to Cleveland last Friday. Gobert implied that betting may be influencing some of the referees' on-court decisions, hence the hefty penalty.
These were Gobert's statements after the duel: "It's my turn to be the bad guy again who says what he feels is the truth. I think what is happening is hurting our sport. This betting issue is getting bigger and bigger, more and more, and it shouldn't be like this. And no disrespect to the Cavaliers, they played a great game too. But it should be the players deciding the games."
