It goes without saying that Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs is one of the most talented rookies to enter the league in years. There is a very good chance that he not only wins Rookie of the Year this season but also goes on to have a long and historic career in the NBA.
He has already done amazing things but over the last three games, Wembanyama has quite literally made history.
Wembanyama became the first player in league history to have five or more blocks and make at least one three-pointer in three consecutive games.
Seeing Wembanyama score so many blocks per game isn't that surprising because he has been wonderful at blocking all season long. He actually leads the NBA with 3.3 blocks per game. Additionally, he is averaging 20.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game too.
The Spurs are the worst team in the Western Conference with a weak 11-48 record but Wembanyama is a bright and stunning young star who really might be able to lead the franchise into the future.
As the season comes closer to a conclusion, it is very possible that Wembanyama will get more minutes on the court. Right now, the French star is averaging 28.6 minutes per game but it has been suggested that he will play even more in the weeks ahead, particularly because there is next to no chance of the Spurs reaching the playoffs so Wembanyama will have more time to play in games, enhance his skills, and prepare for making history in the next season.
