The match between the Brooklyn Nets and the Phoenix Suns was special. It was Kevin Durant's return after being traded to Phoenix almost a year ago. The Nets honored KD with a video of his best moments with the franchise.

Kevin Durant is one of the best players the NBA has ever seen, that's why there's no surprise in the Nets wanting to honor him in some way. It's true, KD's tenure with the Brooklyn Nets wasn't so relevant in terms of accomplishments, but KD showed up.

Durant missed the entire first year of his contract with Brooklyn, recovering from a devastating injury (he tore his achilles) during the 2019 NBA Finals with the Warriors.

After that, everything was bad luck and bad decisions. First the COVID shutdown, the Harden trade fiasco, the irving-vaccines drama, and more injuries. Brooklyn's big three was just a dream more than a reality. KD even asked for a trade during the 2023 off-season.

But one thing is true, and the Nets fans know it, Durant was great when he was healthy. He almost carried a Nets team by himself, without Irving and Harden. If only his foot was a little shorter...perhaps everything would be different.

The majority of the stadium was pleased to have a moment to acknowledge the NBA's most lethal scorer. However, there was some booing, likely from fans who took Kevin Durant's decision to ask the team to trade him too personally.
