The
San Antonio Spurs received the
Dallas Mavericks in a classic Texan duel.
Luka Doncic, Dallas' Wonder Boy going at it against Spurs' gem,
Victor Wembanyama, and the match surely lived up to its hype.
Victor has been looking as a generational talent so far this season, especially since February, when coach Pop decided to play him more minutes. The result? Wemby breaking some records, showcasing his amazing offensive talent near the rim, and also proving that his handles and his three-point jump shot are legit.
But that's not all, Wembanyama also excels on defense. Listed at 7-4 and 209 pounds, he can block shots like nothing. If the opponents attack the rim, Wemby can protect it perfectly, sometimes blocking shots without even jumping.
Another aspect of his well rounded defense is his footwork. Wemby can switch against smaller defenders and make them suffer. His arms have such length that it looks like he's everywhere. That's why he can go out and contest open three-points shots. And that's how he got Luka tonight. Despite Dallas making that extra pass, he can reach Doncic's shot with relative ease. He's already at 207 blocks this season, just absurd skills for this young man,
