Denver Nuggets traveled to Texas to face
Victor Wembanyama's
San Antonio Spurs. Wemby, who's finishing his rookie season, looked like he's been playing in the NBA for years. He has unlocked all his offensive potential on the defending champions. With a the right pieces around Victor, San Antonio will definitely be competing for one of the playoffs spots next year. Tonight he finished with 34 points and 12 rebounds, half of those points came in just three minutes of plsy. Spurs win 121-120.
The 20-year-old player has had an outstanding first season, with historic performances and record breaking displays. Facing perhaps the best team in the NBA, Wemby rose to the challenge, causing all kinds of problems to the Nuggets defense.
Wembanyama started in an excellent form, by halftime the first pick of the 2023 NBA Draft had already scored 20+ points. However, in the third quarter, Victor handled the top team in the Western Conference by himself. In just three minutes he outscored Denver, dropping 17 points on them, including three very deep three-pointers. He's the one, there's no question, he's the rookie of the year and the future of the league.
