After a season filled with a lot of doubt and a bit of cautious optimism, Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans has looked great for much of 2023-24. However, he has played even better lately and has also appeared to be in-shape and conditioned for the long NBA season. All of this has led to speculation that Williamson might be claiming his first spot on an All-NBA team this year.
According to DraftKings, Williamson has +1000 odds to make All-NBA in 2023-24. Now that the NBA has made the team positionless, it gives Williamson a much better chance at earning a spot.
His chances are higher than they have ever been, mostly because Williamson has surged recently and has looked to be in much better shape than he has been in years. According to some sources, Williamson has lost at least 25 pounds since December. In the month of March, Williamson's greatness reached new heights and he has recorded 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game.
For years now, Williamson has been a player with a lot of potential but many drawbacks too. The biggest problem with him has been his history of injuries and the fact that he has seemingly gained weight and gotten out of shape during the summer. But that isn't a problem right now and it appears as if the Pelicans star has turned a page, started a new chapter, and taken his health and his game much more seriously.
He may or may not make an All-NBA team, but Williamson has a very good shot at reaching the playoffs this year. His team is fifth in the West and sit right behind the Los Angeles Clippers, ready to steal the fourth seed at any moment.
