Brooklyn is finalizing a trade sending Royce O’Neale to Phoenix for salaries and three second-round picks, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.
The Brooklyn Nets have traded to the Phoenix Suns small-forward Royce O'Neale in exchange for cash and three second-round picks. The Suns initially wanted Miles Bridges from Charlotte but the player ruled out that possibility. Therefore, the Suns moved quickly and signed O'Neale in his place. As a part of the deal, Memphis Grizzlies sent David Roddy to Phoenix for a swap pick, sources tell The Athletic.
The 30-year-old O'Neale, who spent the first few seasons of his career with the Jazz, averaged 7.4 points and 4.5 rebounds for the Nets this season in 24.5 minutes per game.
He is expected to be able to contribute with his defense. Phoenix will be left with 2 open roster spots to acquire players in the buyout market.
