After the duel between the two best in the East between
Minnesota Timberwolves and
Oklahoma City Thunder,
Anthony Edwards was self-critical of the bad game, but also criticized the referees for, according to him, benefiting
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
"It's hard to contain them with the calls Shai gets," Edwards expressed. "It's hard to shut them down. You can't touch him at any point in the game. It's super hard to beat them. That team is good, especially when they get calls like that."
Over the course of the game, Gilgeous-Alexander hit 12 of his 13 attempts from the free-throw line, leading to criticism from Edwards. As for his own performance, the Wolves star acknowledged the need for improvement in ball handling.
"I have to look in the mirror," Edwards admitted. "Because I'm the one who generates most of the losses. ... I'm definitely watching the footage trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Most of the losses come from me trying to make the right decision. It's not really there. I'll be better."
