The Miami Heat visited the Orlando Magic this Sunday afternoon, both teams aiming to redeem themselves from two straight losses. Last weeks these teams seemed to have reach a rocky part on their path to compete to secure a direct trip to the Playoffs, but tonight, the Magic left no doubts, winning 105-87.
Orlando came to this game knowing that their young star Franz Wagner was returning to play after missing 8 games. And the Magic needs him, without the german wingman, they’ve lost 7 of the last 10 games.
The Magic has had bad luck in the injuries department, but they seem like they are finally getting healthy, with the recovering of not only Wagner but Markelle Fultz and Wendell Carter Jr.
Miami came to Orlando with almost a full squad. Only the surprising rookie, Jaime Jaquez Jr is out of today’s rotation.
The Heat, characterized by being one of the hardest and disciplined teams defensively speaking, had some troubles guarding Orlando’s quicker players. All of the Magic’s starting 5 scored 10+ points.
Paolo Banchero was the leading scorer of his team, with 20 points. Franz Wagner returned with 19 points and 5 assists, and looked like he took things were he left them.
Adebayo had a good night with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists, but the downside were the turnovers, ending the game with 5.
Butler and Herro came short and finished with 15 and 12 points respectively.
Excellent team effort for Orlando. If they can avoid injuries, this team is going to be a problem for the opponents that step on their way to this years playoffs.
