The top seeded Boston Celtics have been rolling heading into All-Star weekend, and they kept their foot on the gas as they took control of this game and defeated the Chicago Bulls 129-112 at the United Center behind another Jayson Tatum masterpiece.
The Celtics have the best record in the NBA and they are many people’s favorites to win the 2024 NBA Finals. They are led by superstar Jayson Tatum, who’s having a phenomenal season and making his case for MVP. Averaging 27.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists as the best player on the best team, the 25-year-old is having another fantastic year despite having 4 All-Star caliber talents around him.
Tatum scored 25 points tonight with 5 made three pointers. Fellow All-Star Jaylen Brown finished with 21 points while Derrick White had a team-high 28 points on 64% shooting. Kristaps Porzingis ended with 14 points and 3 blocks in this game.
For the Bulls, Nikola Vucevic led the way with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Coby White had another great game, finishing with 20 points with 4 made triples and making his case for Most Improved Player. DeMar Derozan ended with 19 points while Alex Caruso recorded 12 points on 56% shooting.
This win improves the Celtics to 44-12, making them now 7 games above the 2nd seeded Cleveland Cavaliers. Boston is 9-1 over their last 10 games and currently on a 7-game winning streak. They will look to continue their hot streak next game will be on Saturday night when they face off against the New York Knicks.
Meanwhile, this loss drops the Bulls to 26-30, which makes them 9th in the Eastern Conference. Chicago is now 5-5 over their last 10 games and currently on a 2-game losing streak. Their next game will be on Sunday night against the New Orleans Pelicans.
