The Celtics have become the first team in NBA history to see four different players earn the Player of the Week title within a single season, per @taylorcsnow
Week 24 of the NBA Regular season is over, and the new players that stood out regarding their magnificent performances are here. Kyrie Irving from the Dallas Mavericks will be representing the Western Conference and Boston Celtics' big man, Kristaps Porzingis is the chosen one to represent the Eastern Conference.
Members of two of the hottest teams in the NBA, both Irving and KP have had remarkable performances last week, helping their franchises to win games in this last stretch of the 2023-24 campaign.
Porzingis is having a very good first year with the Boston Celtics. The unicorn (as Durant named him) seems to have found a squad that needs him in order to succeed, but that doesn't rely so much on him, shaking a bit of the pressure off his back. Playing with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown allows KP to fluorish on the offense, as he has so much room to operate now, wether in the paint or using his dangerous outside shot. Kristaps averaged 19.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks as the Boston Celtics went 4-0.
Kyrie Irving has had a phenomenal second half of the season. He was dealing with some minor injuries but since February, his game has elevated and with him, the whole Mavs have became a much better team. Dallas is now a very dangerous squad. Offensively Kyrie and Luka could take turns and torch almost every franchise. Both of them can be elite playmakers, allowing their teammates to stand out. The Mavericks have been looking nearly unstoppable for a while now. Irving averaged 31.8 points and 5.3 rebounds as the Dallas Mavericks went 3-1.
