All eyes were on
Caitlin Clark Monday night as the superstar player for Iowa faced off against Angel Reese and LSU in a highly anticipated
NCAA game. In the end, it was Clark and her team that reigned supreme and moved on to the next round of the tournament.
Clark knew that she was going to be earning a lot of attention for the game and she purposefully wore a pair of shoes that would turn a lot of heads.
Keen observers noted that Clark was commemorating
Kobe Bryant of the
Los Angeles Lakers by choosing to wear the Kobe 5 Protro "Bruce Lee" sneakers.
Instead of donning Iowa's black and white color scheme, Clark went with the Bruce Lee Kobe 5's, which are decked out to look like Lee's "Enter The Dragon" outfit.
This was obviously a nod to Bryant, who was an influence on Clark just as he was an influence on many other modern basketball players. Perhaps this was a way for Clark to bring out her own "Mamba Mentality" and hype her and her team up before the big game.
