Fans on social media reacted to the possible linkup
between
Denver Nuggets star centre
Nikola Jokic and
Dallas Mavericks point
guard
Luka Doncic.
It has been known for a while that the two have a strong
bond and it became clear once again when they both played for the West side
in the recently concluded NBA
All-Star game.
After the match, a reporter asked Jokic about the possibility
of joining the Mavericks to play alongside his friend. He responded by saying: "I
don't know. It's possible. I don't want to leave Denver. I like it there and
it's a great organization, but if Luka gets pi**ed off in Dallas he can
come."
Fans on the social media platform X — previously known as
Twitter — exploded after those comments where one went on to bring it to
the notice of the Mavericks’ owner
Mark Cuban about what Jokic said about Doncic.
Jokic has been a star performer for the Nuggets this season
where he is averaging 26.1 points per game. That’s not it as he is contributing
12 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game, which is the fourth-best in the league.
On the other hand, Doncic is currently averaging 34.2 points
per game which is the best in the competition. To go with that, he is also
averaging 8.8 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game.
