This matchup featured two dynamic duos with different skill sets, and tonight it was De’Aaron Fox who took over as he led the Sacramento Kings to a dominant 129-94 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks at Golden 1 Center.
These 2 duos in this game are elite in their own ways. Damian Lillard is a sniper with unlimited range while Giannis Antetokounmpo is a downhill dominant force who plays amazing on both ends of the court. On the other hand, Fox is one of the fastest players in the NBA who can burst past his defenders and stop on a dime for a shot or to set his teammates up. His running mate Domantas Sabonis is a versatile center who can play big in the post while also playmaking like a guard.
In this matchup, it was the Kings duo who came out successful as De’Aaron Fox scored a team high 29 points to go with his 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Domantas Sabonis nearly had another triple-double as he finished with 22 points, 11 boards, and 8 assists. This double-double gave the big man the longest streak in franchise history for consecutive DD. Malik Monk was a flamethrower off the bench as he provided 25 points while Harrison Barnes contributed 16 points with 6 rebounds.
On the other hand, Giannis Antetokounmpo also had a big night as he went for 30 points and 13 rebounds. Malik Beasley and Bobby Portis each scored 11 points. It was a struggle for Damian Lillard as he finished with just 10 points on 2/12 shooting.
Sacramento improves to 37-27 with this win and remain the 7th seed in the West. They are just 0.5 games behind the Suns for the 6th seed, so this victory is huge for the Kings as they are looking to finish as one of the top 6 seeds. They are 6-4 over their last 10 games and their next matchup is tomorrow against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Milwaukee drops to 42-24 with this loss and now holds just a 0.5 lead over the Cavs for the 2nd seed in the East. This was a rough game for the Bucks duo and they have struggled as of late, losing 3 out of their last 4 games. They will look to turn things around on Thursday against the Philadelphia 76ers.
