The
New York Knicks facing the
Philadelphia 76ers again at the Madison Square Garden, looking to bounce back from that low scoring loss against the sixers on Sunday. This time,
OG Anunoby was cleared to play and he was a difference maker.
The New York Knicks had to wait over a month to have OG Anunoby back on court. After a very succesful deal that brought him to the City, Anunoby boosted a great Knicks run in January, but an elbow injury sidelined him until today.
Anunoby's playing style match perfectly with what New York's coach Tom Thibodeau wants from his players, relentless defense, versatility and solid shooting.
The Knicks had to survive without Anunoby, and without Randle and Mitchell Robinson as well. The Knicks played without most of their starters throughout a big part of this regular season, and they managed to stay right there, near the top standings of the Eastern Conference. This is impressive, all the guys stepped up and did their job and with the playoffs right down the corner, they are finally recovering those missing pieces.
OG had a good comeback, he still needs to find his rhythm but 14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists surpassed any expectations. If the Knicks can bring back Randle and Robinson while staying or improving that 4th position in the East, they will be a very hard team to beat.
