The Chicago Bulls were able to walk out of tonight’s game with a 110-107 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at the United Center thanks to DeMar DeRozan’s clutch performance.
Despite the Bulls struggling this year, Deebo is having another great season in his successful NBA career. The 34-year-old has made the All-Star game 6 times and is a 3-time All-NBA member. He is averaging over 21 points for his career and is known as one of the best midrange scorers in NBA history. DeRozan will be a free agent this off-season so it will be interesting to see if he stays with Chicago or finds a new home.
In this game, the former USC Trojan scored a team-high 28 points on 59% shooting. Nikola Vucevic had 22 points and 9 boards while hitting 2 triples. Ayo Dosumnu recorded 23 points and 10 assists in his 39 minutes of play. Andre Drummond played just 14 minutes off the bench but grabbed 11 boards with 9 points.
Anfernee Simons was a flamethrower in this game as he score a game-high 30 points with 9 assists and 4 three pointers. Deandre Ayton made his presence felt, as he dominated for 25 points and 15 rebounds. Scoot Henderson had a rough night, scoring 14 points but on 4/17 shooting.
Chicago improves to 34-35 with this win and remain the 9th seed in the East. They’ve been hovering around .500 all season long which isn’t what they had in mind coming into the year. The Bulls are 6-4 over their last 10 games and will look to get another victory on Thursday against the Houston Rockets.
Portland drops to 19-49 with this loss. The Blazers are officially eliminated from the playoffs but they are still using this time to develop their young core. If the season ended right now, they would own the 5th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. They are 3-7 over their last 10 games and will look to turn things around on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers.
