Throughout his NBA career,
LeBron James of the
Los Angeles Lakers has been caught telling a few little white lies about various things. His tendency to stretch the truth has become something of a meme in the league and fans love to poke fun at the four-time champion about it.
But did James recently tell another lie, this time about the solar eclipse earlier in the week?
Twitter account NBACentel reported that James said, "I remember talking to Savannah last week, I told her the moon has been moving weird lately.. and the sun wasn't shining right."
When this quote was posted online, many NBA fans instantly jumped on it, saying it was yet another example of James embellishing.
But the truth is that NBACentel is a parody account, a play on the very popular NBACentral Twitter account that has millions of followers. There is no truth to the quote attributed to James.
Still, the fact that so many people fell for it shows that James' reputation as a fibber has only grown. In the past, he has said that he predicted
Kobe Bryant's historic 81-point game. That is just one of the times that James has seemingly been clairvoyant, something that has been called into question after the fact.
Of course, this view of James doesn't ultimately matter in the long run. What does matter if James' career and his record accomplishments, none of which can be questioned.
