One of the most exciting matchups scheduled for this NBA Tuesday was the game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics. Milwaukee, playing in front of its home crowd wanted to bounce back from an awful week that cost them losing four straight games, three of them against lottery teams. Tonight, playing against the best squad in the league, the team showed up, especially after Giannis Antetokounmpo left the game, in the third quarter with a calf injury. Bucks win 104-91.
The Bucks were able to get back on the winning track after losing 4 games in a row in what might have been the most challenging week of the season. Milwaukee has been a team that can win against any franchise in the NBA, however, they also have lost several games against better and worst rivals. The have a consistency issue that began with their former head coach, Adrian Griffin, and continues to be a problem with the new coach, Doc Rivers.
Boston arrived to this game with the best record in the league already secured. The Celtics have dominated the NBA over the course if this campaign, and tonight they looked as they have lifted up the foot of the gas pedal. The main objective with the best record clinched must be staying healthy and start reducing their stars minutes to prevent any kind of injury.
Milwaukee cruised during the first half of the game, clearly playing with a sense of urgency. They needed a win to retain that 2nd spot in the East. Boston started a comeback in the third quarter, when the Bucks looked shaky after losing Giannis.
Still, the whole squad stepped up big in the fourth to close the deal and get that coveted win. Milwaukee has now a 48-31 record, moving away from their immediate chasers, the Orlando Magic.
Giannis played 28 minutes before the injury, registering 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Patrick Beverley had an impressive performance, scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Lillard and Middleton collaborated with 12 points each. Bobby Portis and Brook Lopez added 15 points respectively.
The visitors resistance was led by Jayson Tatum with 22 points. Jaylen Brown had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Boston will resume playing Thursday night against the New York Knicks. Milwaukee will play its second back-to-back game tomorrow, when they receive the Orlando Magic.
