CAVS WIN. #LETEMKNOW
Spida is unreal at this point, as he is literally carrying his team to victory night in and night out. The team from Ohio is red-hot thanks to Donovan Mitchell’s heroics, and tonight he did it all to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to an easy 118-95 win over the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center.
The Cavs have been the hottest team since the calendar turned 2024 and it’s all thanks to their 5-time All-Star. The 27-year-old shooting guard is having an MVP type season and is making Cleveland relevant again ever since hometown hero LeBron James departed for LA. This team is poised to make a deep playoff run with Mitchell running the show.
Tonight, he contributed on both ends of the floor, ending with 27 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assist, 3 steals, and 3 blocks. Jarrett Allen had 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks while other big man Evan Mobley recorded 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Darius Garland finished with 14 points and 7 assists.
The Nets were led by Mikal Bridges, as he scored 26 points to go along with 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Cam Thomas poured in 17 points while Trendon Watford had 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks off the bench.
This win improves the Cavs to 34-16, making them 2nd in the Eastern Conference and 4.5 games behind the Boston Celtics. Cleveland is 9-1 over their last 10 games and currently on an 8-game winning streak. Their next game will be on Saturday night against the Toronto Raptors.
Meanwhile, this loss drops the Nets to 20-31, which makes them 11th in the Eastern Conference. Brooklyn is now 2 games behind the 10th seeded Atlanta Hawks for the last play-in spot. They are 3-7 over their last 10 games and currently on a 3-game losing streak. Their next game will be on Saturday night against the San Antonio Spurs.
