The Oklahoma City Thunder scored a huge win on Thursday night, beating the Los Angeles Clippers 129-107 with one of their most impressive victories of the year. Even though the Clippers have been surging lately, the Thunder were still able to shut them down.
On Friday morning, former NBA player Chandler Parsons was on Run It Back and asked when he thought that the trio of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, and Jalen Williams would surpass Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and James Harden.
"I think it could be as early as next year...I'm talking next year on the court productively," Parsons said.
The Thunder are having their best season in years and are currently the second-best team in the Western Conference with a 38-17 record. Meanwhile, the Clippers are right behind them with 36-18.
After years of patiently acquiring talent and building a strong roster, the Thunder are now one of the most promising and exciting teams in the league. Their explosive growth in such a short amount of time has some analysts wondering how far they can go this season and next year too. They are still very young and they aren't the biggest team. Does that mean they would have bad luck in the playoffs against stronger, larger teams like the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves?
The Thunder and Clippers are doing some amazing work this season and there is a very good chance that they are both two of the most incredible teams in the West for the foreseeable future.
