The Milwaukee Bucks faced the league's bests Boston Celtics at the Fi-serv forum. The Bucks wanted to take advantage of playing in front of their home crowd and get a win to boost their confidence, after having lost four games in a row. With an impressive team effort, Milwaukee was able to take the win, however Giannis Antetokounmpo went down with a calf injury.
Giannis was having a monster season once again, helping Milwaukee to reach and stay at the top of the Eastern Conference throughout the whole campaign, as Antetokounmpo's team is ranked second with a 48-31 record. The Greek Freak was once again part of the MVP conversations, being considered among the top five candidates to win the award.
According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Giannis will mis the remaining games and receive daily treatment and evaluation on calf strain. He finishes the campaign averaging 30.4 points, 11.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists in 73 games played.
This season has been bittersweet for the Bucks as they continued to deal with some minor injuries among important team members, which also led the squad to a lack of consistency and chemistry that resulted in the firing of Adrian Griffin, Bucks' former head coach. Despite all this being mentioned, it's true that Milwaukee remains a top team in the NBA with a bright future come the playoffs.
Losing Giannis for the last three games of the regular season could be a big deal regarding Milwaukees's remaining schedule: Orlando (4th with 46-33 record) tonight at home, OKC Thunder (fighting for the top of the Western Conference) on the road on Friday, and Orlando again at Florida as the final duel of the campaign.
