Steph weighs in on the trade deadline looming large after another tough loss
On Monday night, Stephen Curry and his Golden State Warriors were able to earn a 109-98 win over the Brooklyn Nets. This was an important victory for the Warriors, who are struggling to climb higher than 12th seed in the Western Conference. During the game, Curry scored 29 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists including 4 three-pointers.
He was the only Warriors player to sink a three-pointer and his four shots brought him even closer to another massive milestone. He is already the league's all-time leader in three-pointers made but he is nearing 4,000 three-pointers for his career. He has now scored 3,603 three-pointers, which means he is less than 400 away from the 4,000 threshold.
At this rate, he will likely reach 4,000 threes at some point in the 2024-25 NBA season.
Just last season, Curry surpassed Ray Allen for the most three-pointers ever. Behind Curry and Allen are James Harden, Reggie Miller, Damian Lillard, Kyle Korver, Klay Thompson, and LeBron James.
Curry has cemented his place in NBA history and is thought of as the best shooter of all time by many. And while that is very important and something that Curry cherishes, he is much more focused on helping his team get back on track this season.
Curry's team only has a 22-25 record and has been fighting problems all season long. On Monday night, Curry felt some optimism for the Warriors but remained intent on just going out on the floor and playing hard every night.
He also spoke about the changes that could be coming to his team by the end of the week.
"It is up to us as players to perform, play at the level we are supposed to so that these conversations and decisions are maybe a little easier," Curry said.
He added, "Obviously, I am not a GM, I am not in that position where I am getting asked that every single day,"
