In a matter of months, Bronny James could join his father, LeBron James, in the NBA. Although it's not clear where he will play and how well he will do, James has a good shot at being selected in the upcoming NBA Draft.
But one anonymous league general manager believes that James is moving too fast and needs to slow down for the sake of his future.
"He (Bronny) should go back to school to develop at his own pace or he risks getting lost in the shuffle, whether or not he's playing with his dad," the GM told Courtside Buzz.
The 19-year-old USC freshman has seen his fair share of ups and downs during his first year in college. He got a late start to the year because of a very scary cardiac arrest episode last summer. Since then, he has averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.
Despite lukewarm numbers during his games, Bronny recently submitted his name for the draft in June. He is also keeping his options open and could return to another year of college. He has a couple of months to meet with teams, show off his skills, and get a feel for which NBA franchises might want to sign him. He could withdraw his name from the draft just days before it begins.
Some analysts think that Bronny is making the right move by signing up for the draft while others believe it is too soon and he should spend more time enhancing his skills in school. There are some who also believe that Bronny is ready for the league and could grow into his skills on the big stage of the NBA.
Which direction will Bronny take and what will his NBA future look like? We will find out soon.
