Injuries strike again in the NBA, in this case the
Indiana Pacers were the victims.
Bennedict Mathurin, who's been the Pacers' secondary weapon, will need to undergo a surgical procedure to repair a shoulder injury.
Bad news for the Indiana Pacers, they're going to lose one of the key players in their rotation, as Bennedict Mathurin was instrumental for Indiana's success throughout the season, averaging 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
The Canadian was having a good campaig, showing improvement in his overall skills and defense. A sign of his rise this year was winning the 2024 Rising Stars MVP.
His versatility and length allow him to play and guard both shooting guard and small forward position something that the Pacers took advantage of, using him in different lineups depending the rival. On Tuesday, Mathurin played a major role in the road victory against the Dallas Mavericks, scoring 19 points.
As reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the franchise expects Bennedict to be fully recovered for the 2024-25 NBA season.
