Tonight
San Antonio Spurs face the
Golden State Warriors at home, in the beginning of a back-to-back series between the two teams. Injuries will play a substantial role this Saturday as
Victor Wembanyama hurt is ankle last Tuesday and
Stephen Curry suffered a similar fate too on Thursday.
Curry sprained his ankle on a drive to the hoop late in Thursday's game against the Chicago Bulls. While it's a less serious injury than initially thought, he's likely to miss some games. That leaves Golden State fate in the hands of
Draymond Green and
Klay Thompson, the other foundational members of the Warriors dynasty.
The absence of the star players of both teams could have a major impact on the development of the series. Both Wembanyama and Curry are crucial on their respective teams and their ability to score and create scoring opportunities is vital to their teams' success. However, both the Spurs and Warriors will have to rely on the rest of their roster to fill the void left by these absences.
