The NBA made it official, the 2024
NBA Draft will be extended. The two-night event will be held in the vibrant New York City, as confirmed by ESPN sources this Wednesday.
In this new structure, the first round will take place on June 26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, while the second round will move to ESPN's Seaport District studios in Lower Manhattan, scheduled for the following night.
Formalizing this adjustment required an agreement between the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association, which was recently completed, according to sources close to the matter. The NBA is expected to make the official announcement of this two-night event in an upcoming release.
Among the reasons behind this expansion, in addition to television commitments, is the hope that the space between the first and second rounds will allow teams more time to negotiate trades and plan strategies for the second night.
