Los Angeles Lakers forward
Christian Wood has revealed that the
recent post on a social media platform was not to take a dig at the manager for
not selecting him to start in the match against the
Atlanta Hawks.
The Lakers suffered their second consecutive defeat at the State
Farm Arena on Tuesday night with a score of 138-122.
Before the start, the 28-year-old posted ‘Lol’ on his social
media platform X — previously known as Twitter — seemingly in response to the
news of being dropped by manager Darvin Ham.
When asked by the media after the match, Wood denied that the
post on X was related to basketball and also stated how he would’ve loved to
help the team if he was given more minutes on the court. “[The post was] not basketball related,” he
said. "I would love to do more [for the team if I was given more minutes].”
Wood exactly didn’t
set the world alight when he did take the court for the Lakers as he ended up registering
nine points to go with eight rebounds and two assists. He is having a below-par
season for the Lakers where he is averaging just 7.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and one
assist per game.
