The
Houston Rockets are on the verge of earning a spot in the upcoming NBA Play-In Tournament. That being said, they could easily miss their chance at qualifying and may miss the playoffs entirely, yet again.
But no matter what happens, Rockets star
Jalen Green is very proud of what his team has achieved and thinks they are evolving in a very promising way.
“The main goal is to make the playoffs,” Green said. “Either way it goes, growth is growth. We’ve gotten better as a team and we have the tools to do it.”
There is no doubt that the Rockets have indeed gotten a whole lot better this season. When 2022-23 ended, the Rockets were the 14th seed in the West with a 22-60 record. Now, they are poised to win at least 40 games this season, even if they don't make the Play-In Tournament.
The progress of the Rockets is due to multiple things, notably the addition of Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks, along with new head coach Ime Udoka. Green is also a major part of the team's success, especially lately during his recent surge in the final part of the season.
The Rockets are just several wins behind the Golden State Warriors. If they are able to leap ahead of them in the standings, it'll be a major accomplishment for Houston, as well as a disappointing collapse for the Warriors.
The good news for Rockets fans is that no matter how this season ends, the future is looking very bright for the team.
