The New York Knicks, their fanbase and of course their All-Star power forward, Julius Randle are still trying to process the hearthbeaking news that despite all the efforts made, Randle's shoulder continues to give him problems and according to the specialists, he won't be able to get it in a place where he could play at any point in  this 2023-24 NBA season.
One of the worsts fears in New York City has materialized today. After several weeks of speculations about Julius Randle health status, today it was confirmed that the All-Star power forward has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. Julius suffered a severe shoulder injury back in January and while it was first expected to be recovered by now, that wasn't the case. They couldn't get that dislocated shoulder stable, There was a certain risk that if Randle were to try to play through his injury, it could lead to suffer permanent damage.
At the time of his injury, Randle was averaging 24 points on 47 percent shooting, 9.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.
Sources close to the two-time All-star and the Knicks told that Randle and his group were absolutely crushed when they find out this news. New York was having its best season in a very long time. After OG Anunoby arrived to the Madison Square Garden the Knicks looked as a very dangerous team, with good offensive weapons, relentless defenders, great depth and solid coaching.
Currently ranked 5th in the Eastern Conference, New York could still make a push to recover that top-4 place that grants homecourt advantage for the first round the playoffs.
This was a year that injury-wise, just wouldn't let the Knicks showcase their full power. Many of New York's instrumental pieces suffered major setbacks. From Mitchell Robinson to Julius Randle, to OG Anunoby and even Jalen Brunson had to be sidelined for some games with some nagging bruises.
Mitchell Robinson has been able to recover, and now all the prayers are sent in Anunoby's elbow. OG was absolutely sensational when he got to the Big City but just a few days into February he needed surgery to repair an old elbow wound. He was able to attempt a comeback but after just three games he had to be sidelined again and remains in observation.
