Only two NBA games this past Sunday due to USA's main sporting event celebration: the Super Bowl. The first game was between the
Boston Celtics and the
Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center in Southbeach. Huge rivalry for these two franchises although this season, Boston swept the Heat 3-0.
Heat player
Kevin Love was full of praise for the Celtics before the game, which ended with a 106-110 win for Boston, and a great performance by Jayson Tatum, who was one assist shy of a triple-double.
Love, in his remarks about the franchise leading the NBA with a current 41-12 record, explained that the fact that the Celtics are the second best offensive rating in the entire league and the third best defensive rating is a great way to gauge how good they are, "It's definitely a good barometer. They're probably the best team in the NBA, and have been all year."
Right now, behind the 41-12 Celtics in the Eastern Conference, the second-place Cleveland Cavaliers, who have won 15 of their last 16 games, sitting on a 35-16 record, five wins shy of the throne held by the Massachusetts franchise.
Kevin Love's Miami Heat, are in play-in positions, specifically in 8th place with a 28-25 record. Unfortunately, the Florida franchise will have to face their upcoming games without Jimmy Butler because the player is on indefinite leave due to the death of a family member.
