Los Angeles Clippers prolongue their good moment on the road, this time by defeating the Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center 103-95. James Harden was key on the 4th period, helping his team by leading the offense. Miami stayed close but LA's defense proved to be too much for Jimmy Butler and his team.
The Clippers came to Southbeach winning 8 of their lasts 10 games, confirming that they are one of the NBA's hottest teams right now. In addition, they've won 4 of their last 5 games away from LA.
Miami Heat seemed to be recovered from a brief moment of inconsistency. They are expected to be one of the league's best on the Eastern Conference, although the Heat usually has moments like this during the regular season, but they always seem to figure things out come playoff time.
The game was even for the most part, with a slight advantage to the Clippers side. Kawhi Leonard carried his team through the first 3 quarters. The Klaw finished the game with 25 points, 11 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
Miami struggled on offensive throughout the whole game, shooting with poor efficiency. However their defense kept them close the scoreboard, in a match that was expected to have low scoring due to both teams' defensive skills.
The third quarter saw the game's difference maker. James Harden began his wonderful performance on this period and extended it through the last one. The Beard was a monster on offense, shooting 5-9 from long distance and an overall 54% from the field. He finished the match with 20 points, 11 assists, 8 rebounds, in addition to 1 block and 1 steal proving he's defensive efforts. Harden was super active on the defensive side, deflecting passes, helping on defense, rotating perfectly.
This Clippers team is one of the most dangerous teams in the league. Their perimeter defense is elite, their firepower on offense is unlimited and they're coached by Ty Lue, who's already proven to be a brilliant basketball mind.
The Heat was missing Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro, which reflected on their poor three-point efficiency, 28.6 %. Jimmy Butler finished with 21 points, followed by Terry Rozier, who scored 17. Miami needs some time to adjust their offense to fully take advantage of the acquisition of Rozier.
The Clippers will be playing tomorrow against the Hawks in Atlanta.
Miami will try to recover from this loss on Tuesday, when they'll be facing the Orlando Magic.
