3 days left until the NBA trade deadline, and rumors and speculations are louder than ever. Some teams already made important deals and they are quiet now, but other teams have been planning how to bolster their roster from long ago but encountered challenging reasons to do so.
According to Sportskeeda; Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks and Cleveland Cavaliers, for different reasons, have a rough path to make a move before February 8th arrives.
Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors, in the midst of a challenging season, face significant obstacles to making trades. While names like Andrew Wiggins and Chris Paul could be trade assets, their diminished market value and reluctance to part with promising young players like Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody limit the chances of a meaningful trade.
Boston Celtics
The Celtics, with an impressive 37-12 record, have solidified their position as league leaders. The stability and balance in their roster, led by stars such as Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis, make it unlikely that they will seek significant changes before the 2023-24 season.
Dallas Mavericks.
Despite the Mavericks' active pursuit of a small forward, other teams demands to include Tim Hardaway Jr in the deal have been a stumbling block. Such is the case of the Nets and Trail Blazers. With Hardaway playing a crucial role off the bench, the Mavs don't like the idea of parting with him, limiting the options for a major trade.
Chicago Bulls
The Bulls, initially considered active in the market, have lowered their expectations for trades. Zach LaVine's diminishing trade value and the firmness in keeping DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso as untouchables make the chances of a major move slim.
Cleveland Cavaliers.
With an improved record, the Cavaliers are in a stable position in the Eastern Conference. A lack of significant draft picks and a conviction in maintaining their core of players, including Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland, make the Cavs prone to remain inactive before the deadline.
