The
Los Angeles Lakers have been suffering injury problems lately, right as the team is attempting to secure a spot in the upcoming Play-In Tournament.
Gabe Vincent,
Christian Wood, and
Jarred Vanderbilt are all listed as injured.
Just last week, there were reports saying that none of them would be back for the rest of this season. But apparently, Vanderbilt might be back in a matter of days.
According to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, Vanderbilt is on track for an early April return.
“From what I’ve heard, the Lakers are targeting early April,” Buha said.
He went on: “I don’t have a concrete date in terms of is that like April 2nd? Is that April 9th? But sometime within that first week to week-and-a-half of April the Lakers are trying to get Vando back. The season ends on April 14th, so they are trying to get him back to get him three or four games under his belt."
This is clearly good news for the Lakers, who are eager for the defensive power that Vanderbilt can bring, especially when the season ends in mid-April and the playoffs begin.
Additionally, it also sounds like Gabe Vincent is also on track to be back with the Lakers soon. However, there hasn't been a definitive update about Christian Wood.
The Lakers want Vanderbilt back as soon as possible but they also want hi to be fully healthy and readjusted to playing with the team when the Play-In Tournament starts in the middle of April.
