The
New York Knicks head coach
Tom Thibodeau has questioned the
refereeing decisions on the night when his team suffered a heartbreaking defeat
to the
San Antonio Spurs, despite heroics from
Jalen Brunson.
The Knicks had a difficult night overall as they lost to the Spurs with a score of 130-126 after overtime at the Frost Bank Center in San
Antonio.
The 27-year-old had a fabulous night on a personal level as
he ended up registering 61 points to go with four rebounds and six assists. However, that performance was just not good enough for the team.
Thibodeau, while talking to the media, questioned the match
officials about why there was a clear free throw disparity with 32-12 in favour
of Spurs.
"A foul's a foul," said Thibodeau. "That's
what I do know. What I'm hearing, I don't really like. I don't know what else
you can do, what else you can say. It's clear as day, it really is that
simple."
Despite the result, the Knicks remain in the fourth position
in the Eastern Conference with 44 wins and 29 defeats. On the other hand, despite
the win on Friday night, the Spurs remain at the bottom of the Western
Conference table with 18 victories and 56 defeats.
