The
Miami Heat are currently trying to rebuild the success that they found last season when they went all the way to the NBA Finals. They are currently the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference with a 31-25 record but they could surge all the way through the playoffs just like they did in 2023-24.
Of course, next season will find the Heat paying a lot of money because they are currently set to owe slightly more than $180 million in salaries next year, which puts them over the NBA salary cap.
In the past, the Heat haven't liked spending a lot of extra money and being hit with taxes. But it seems that they have started a new chapter and are willing to spend some to win a lot.
They recently made matters worse when they signed
Terry Rozier from the Charlotte Hornets. He is set to receive $24,924,126 next season but his contract is small compared to others.
Jimmy Butler will make $48 million, while
Bam Adebayo will earn $34 million and Tyler Herro will bring in $29 too.
After Rozier, Duncan Robinson is the only other player earning double-digits in 2024-25 with his salary of $19,406,000. After that, the rest of the roster is in single digits.
The Heat might make some hefty changes this summer if the team doesn't go far. Yet, even if they do, it's very possible that they will be paying more than $180 million next year with their plethora of big contracts.
