In a video that appeared on the social media platform X — previously
known as Twitter — Edwards can be seen talking to famous NBA broadcaster Stephen
A. Smith where he claimed that he believes he is a better player than the other
two. “I feel like I am better [than Doncic and Gilgeous-Alexander], 100
percent,” he said.
The claim is an interesting one as numbers suggest otherwise.
Edwards has been a star performer for the Timberwolves where he is contributing
26.3 points per game which is the 12th best in the competition. To
go with that, he is also contributing 5.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.
Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 31.1 points per game which is
the second-best in the competition. He is also contributing 5.5 rebounds and
6.6 assists per game.
Doncic, on the other hand, is leading the charts as he is
averaging 34.3 points per game which is the best by any player in the NBA this
season. To go with that, he is also contributing 8.8 rebounds and 9.6 assists
per game which is the third-best in the competition.
