Los Angeles Lakers legendary small forward
LeBron James
joked with his teammates before the start of the NBA
All-Star game. The NBA All-Star weekend remains one of the most watched
sporting events in the country. It took place on February 17th and 18th in
Utah.
James became the first player ever to feature in the
All-Star game 20 times when he took the court while representing the West side
in Utah.
Before the start of the match, in a video posted on social
media platform X — previously known as Twitter — he joked with his teammates Nikola
Jokic and
Luka Doncic about his first-ever outing in the All-Star game.
“Me, Wilt Chamberlain, Bob Cousy, Dr. J... That was my first
All-Star game, back in '68, I think,” he said. The night did not go well for the West side as they suffered
a defeat against the East in a high-scoring affair with a score of 211-186.
James had little impact on the night as he registered just
eight points in 14 matches on the court with four rebounds and three assists.
Doncic on the night contributed seven points to go with
seven rebounds and seven assists. Jokic, on the other hand, contributed 13
points to go with four rebounds and nine assists for the West.
