NBA Trade Deadline: The New York Knicks could be interested in acquiring the services of 2023 NBA Champion Bruce Brown to reinforce the backcourt. The guard was sent to Toronto Raptors as an asset involved in the trade that landed Pascal Siakam in Indiana.
After trading their All-Star, Pascal Siakam, Toronto is now on re-build mode. Therefore, it's difficult that the 27 year old guard decides to stay in Canada.
New York, on the other hand, would benefit from bringing Brown on board. Trading for OG Anunoby cost NY to send RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickly to the Raptors, lowering their depth in the backcourt.
“I was told there is some internal interest in going after Bruce Brown from the Knicks as far as a trade candidate here,” “Obviously, the Knicks had strong interest in Brown as a free agent. They were actually his first meeting. Now, Brown going to Toronto, he might be available. There are some people in New York that would love to bring him on ahead of the trade deadline.” reported Ian Begley, from SNY.
With the Nuggets, Brown was a reliable offensive option, especially against the Heat in the Finals, averaging 12 points and 4 rebounds with good efficiency. This year with the Pacers, Brown was more of a playmaker, taking advantage of his feel for the game.
Having Jalen Brunson dealing with some minor injuries and missing some games, Knicks would definitely appreciate counting with a guard that can do a little bit of everything and has championship pedigree on his resume.
