One of Europe's best talents for the upcoming NBA Draft, Nikola Topic, suffered a sprained knee after an awkward landing and he's expected to miss a couple of weeks in order to recover.
While Topic is expected to be recovered for the June workouts that will be part of the final stretch of days before the draft lottery, it is certainly a bitter pill for the young point guard to swallow.
Topic was playing in the Adriatic League Finals prior to reporting for the NBA Draft Combine, but his return to European competition is all but ruled out. The Serbian was considered to be one of the top 5 players selected in the event that gathers the future promises that will start their career in one of the franchises of the best league in the world.
The 18-year-old was out for four and a half months earlier this season due to an injury to the same knee he injured yesterday-when he was injured on a non-contact play after an awkward landing after making a pass.
Fortunately, tests indicate that it was only a sprain, but it is possible that the repeated occurrence of such a sensitive area could cause Topic to drop a bit in the general considerations.
