The
Phoenix Suns hosted the
Cleveland Cavaliers at Footprint Center and picked up a much needed 122-101 victory to move out of the play-in behind an offensive masterpiece by
Devin Booker too.
The 4-time All-Star scored a game-high 40 points with 5 made three-pointers.
Kevin Durant had 32 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists while Royce O’Neale finished with 17 points and 5 triples. Bol Bol recorded 15 points, 2 steals, and 2 blocks off the bench while Bradley Beal contributed 7 points, 6 boards, and 7 assists.
Donovan Mitchell led the way for Cleveland with 24 points, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.
Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen each scored 20 points while Darius Garland had 15 points with 8 assists. Caris LeVert provided 11 points off the bench.
Phoenix improves to 45-31 with this win and move up to the 6th seed in the West. This was a huge victory for the Suns as they are fighting for a top 6 spot to avoid the play-in and they now control their own destiny if they can win out. This team is 7-3 over their last 10 games and will look to build off this effort on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Cleveland drops to 46-31 with this loss and hold only a 0.5 game lead over the Magic for the 3rd seed in the East. The Cavs are on the verge of sliding down the standings and losing home court advantage so they need to turn things around to finish as a top 4 seed. They are 4-6 over their last 10 games and will look to bounce back on Saturday against the Los Angeles Lakers.
