After months of competition in the best basketball league in the world, the 2023/24 NBA regular season comes to an end this Sunday, April 14, with the arrival of a final day that aims to be historic in every way, and that will give way to the play-in competition and then the playoffs.
The 30 teams that make up the competition will play this Sunday, and except for the Boston Celtics' lead in the Eastern Conference, which has been assured since March 24, absolutely everything is at stake both in the East itself and in the Western Conference. Some of the main players are the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves... - Direct qualification to playoffs: With Cleveland Cavaliers minimum 4th, the last two playoff spots (5th and 6th) are contested by Orlando Magic (46-35), Philadelphia 76ers (46-35), Indiana Pacers (46-35) and Miami Heat (45-36). Four teams in a neck-and-neck battle for two positions. The two that do not get them will face each other in the first game of the play-in.
- Duel for the throne: Spectacular three-way battle between the Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets. The three teams have the same record, 56-25, and their result in the standings could be decisive to reach the NBA Finals.
- Los Angeles Clippers vs Dallas Mavericks: This first round playoff is already confirmed, and the two franchises will face each other in a spectacular duel between Luka Doncic and Kawhi Leonard.
