On a Monday day in the NBA where up to six games will be played, Charlotte Hornets and Boston Celtics face each other in a duel between two Eastern Conference teams with completely different contexts. Jayson Tatum and young Brandon Miller will be the stars of the game.
The Celtics will play as visitors with the goal of being first in the East for a long time now. Although the Massachusetts franchise won its last game against the New Orleans Pelicans, it is coming off two consecutive losses to the Atlanta Hawks in very close games, so it is looking to continue improving ahead of the all-important playoffs.
The Hornets, meanwhile, are 13th in the East with an 18-56 record, having won just two of their last 10 games. Still, one of those 18 wins came against Boston, albeit earlier in the season and with LaMelo Ball, now injured until the end of the season. Giving their fans another win against the king of the Conference would be a good way to make up for another year in the bottom of the standings.
Expert predictions (Possible lineups and result).
The main predictions for tonight's game have the Boston Celtics on top to win. However, Charlotte Hornets will be at home and the Celtics are already mathematically first.
In addition, the potential lineups will be as follows:
  • Hornets: Tre Mann, Vasilije Micic, Miles Bridges, Brandon Miller, Nick Richards.
  • Celtics: Jrue Holiday, Derrick White, Sam Hauser, Jayson Tatum, Al Horford.
Schedule and TV.
The game will be played at 07:00 PM ET, and can be followed on NBA TV, BSSE, and NBCS-BOS.
Injury report.
  • Hornets: Seth Curry (ankle), Cody Martin (ankle), Mark Williams (back) and Aleksej Pokusevski (illness) ruled out. LaMelo Ball (ankle), out for the season.
  • Celtics: Jaylen Brown (hand), Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring) and Jaden Springer (knee) are questionable. JD Davison (ankle), ruled out.
