Reigning champion Denver Nuggets win tight game over Milwaukee Bucks behind Jokic triple-double

A duel between two top 5 teams in the NBA was as competitive as you could ask for. With superstars on both sides, former 2-time MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets were able to hold off the Milwaukee Bucks 113-109 at Ball Arena.
Nikola Jokic was once again dominant this game, showing the world why he’s an NBA All-Star starter and a top 3 candidate for his 3rd MVP award. He finished the game with 25 points, 16 rebounds, and 12 assists, notching his 14th triple-double of the season. He’s putting up ridiculous stats while making it look effortless, averaging 26.3 points, 12 rebounds, and 8.9 assists. Sidekick Jamal Murray also had a phenomenal game, scoring 35 points on 59% shooting. Michael Porter Jr. added in 13 points and 8 rebounds in his 37 minutes of play.
On the Bucks side, Giannis Antetokounmpo had a great game, ending with 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists. Brook Lopez hit 5 three pointers on his way towards 19 points and 2 blocks, but All-Star starter Damian Lillard struggled as he finished tonight’s game with 18 points on 38% shooting.
This win improves the Nuggets’ record to 32-15, which places them 3rd in the Western Conference. They are 1 game behind the 1st seeded Minnesota Timberwolves. Over their last 10 games, Denver is 7-3. This was a quality win for the Denver Nuggets as the Milwaukee Bucks are a top 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. Denver will look to build off this victory Wednesday night as they face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
For Milwaukee, this loss drops them to 32-15 on the season, which makes them 2nd in the Eastern Conference. Although they lost this game, they played tough against the defending champs. All eyes will be on the Bucks as they finish the season off with new head coach Doc Rivers. Milwaukee is 4 games behind the 1st seeded Boston Celtics and they will look to turn things around on Wednesday night against the young Portland Trailblazers.
