Doc Rivers will be reportedly making his debut as the coach
of the
Milwaukee Bucks in the match against the
Denver Nuggets.
The 62-year-old has recently been hired by the franchise as
a coach after sacking Adrian Griffin despite leading the charts in the Central
Standings.
As per the recent report, Rivers is set to make his debut as
the coach of a new franchise in the match against the Nuggets. He was confirmed
as the coach by the franchise just moments before their first defeat after
three matches against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Rivers is considered one of the best coaches in the history
of the NBA. He will be managing his fifth franchise as he has also worked with
the likes of Orlando Magic
(1999-2003), Boston Celtics (2004-2013), Los Angeles Clippers (2013-2020) and
the Philadelphia 76ers (2020-2023).
He led the Celtics franchise to the NBA title in the 2008 season
where they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in the best-of-seven finals with a
score of 4-2. He was also named the NBA Coach of the Year in the year 2000.
Bucks forward Bobby Portis was one of the most notable names
who expressed excitement in public to work with the new coach.
"It's going to be fun just to get coached by someone
who has something to prove as well," he said. "Not saying we've
failed the last couple years, but we didn't achieve what was sought to be the
goal. Having a coach that's low key in the same boat as us is gravy. It's
refreshing as well to have everybody on he same page and have guys that ultimately
have a chip on their shoulder with something to prove."
