Los Angeles Lakers superstar and NBA legend, LeBron James, started his own podcast alongside former NBA sharpshooter JJ Redick. On the first episode of the show, the King took some time to praise two of the best generational talents the league has ever seen: Stephen Curry and Allen Iverson. The 4-time champion addressed the impact that these two phenomenal players have had on basketball culture.
LeBron James is known for his exceptional talent on the court. The titles, the MVP's, the records, all of that together is how we've seen James throghout all his career. But now, with his podcast, we get to know his basketball mind in a deeper way. Without competing, we can experience a new side of one of the greatests players ever, relaxed, just talking about one of the things he loves the most, the game itself.
In this first episode, Bron showed some love for both Steph and AI. Curry has been one of LeBron's biggest rivals, and about him, the King expressed:
"Steph single-handedly changed the league. All of the sudden, no lead is safe since he entered the league back in 08/09. Since I've been watching the game, the most influence on the game, besides MJ, Steph and AI are the two biggest influencial guys in our game, since I started watching it," said the King, and then added:
"They're 6-3, 6-4, they were just so relatable, and kids felt they could be them. They were guys that was not always counted on, they were small in stature, and they just defied the odds."
"You got AI who's like unbelievable crossover, the cornrows, the arm-sleeve. Everyone wears arm-sleeves now because of Allen Iverson. And he's going to the trenches, you know? laying it up on bigs whatever the case may be," concluded LeBron on Iverson, whom he has said repeatedly that he loved watching play when he was a kid.
"And now you have Steph, who's shooting over the Empire State Building. It's like those two are the two most influencial when you say the game, how they changed the game and the kids like, those are two guys that you just want to watch every single night."
