San Antonio Spurs young centre
Victor Wembanyama has expressed
gratitude towards his franchise and believes that there is no better place for
him to start his career.
The 20-year-old is often regarded as one of the most highly-rated
players currently playing in the competition.
Wembanyama was recently quoted in a report where he expressed
his belief that there is no better franchise for him to groom himself and become
the best version of himself.
"This is really the best place for me," he said. "I
said that over and over. I couldn't dream of being in a better place. Being a
Spur, you have to have standards. The main thing is the Spurs get good players.
But what matters most is to be a good person. This is why (former players) are
still around the team, helping the team. These are values I like."
The Le Chesnay-born is having a more than impressive season
for the Spurs where he is averaging 20.5 points, 10 rebounds and 3.2 assists
per game.
Those numbers become
even more impressive considering that Spurs are having a disastrous season as
they are placed in the fifth position in the Southwest Division with just 11 wins
and 44 defeats.
