The
Golden State Warriors will be honoring the memory of their late assistant coach,
Dejan Milojevic, by featuring a special logo on the court, and with a patch just like it in the team's jerseys. This commemoration will be part of the Warriors until the end of the season.
Milojević passed away from a heart attack, leaving a void in the team. But the Warriors are looking to keep his presence and legacy alive.
The organization unveiled a special patch that will adorn the team's uniforms, featuring the initials "DM" inside a heart, a symbol that encapsulates the affection and respect the franchise had for him.
This touching tribute is not limited to just jerseys. The Warriors also announced that they will feature an identical logo on the court at the
Chase Center, creating a sacred space where Milojević's spirit will always be present.
"Heartbreaking. Devastating," Stever Kerr said of the terrible event.
"It's just the saddest thing I've ever been a part of in the NBA. We lose someone who is so close to us, and then, more importantly, to see his family suffer. This last week has been...filled with all of the above."
