The Phoenix Suns have been quietly making some moves since the trade deadline. After trading to acquire Royce O'Neale and already signed Thaddeus Young, According to sources close to ESPN and the Arizona Republic. Phoenix seems to be determinate to bolster their roster in order to be ready to compete when the playoffs arrive. They are now interested in italian wingman, Danillo Gallinari.
Thaddeus Young, who is in his seventeenth NBA season, has been a standout in the league for years. Although his numbers this season with the Toronto Raptors were modest, averaging five points and 3.3 rebounds per game in 23 games (six of them as a starter), his experience and versatility on the court make him a valuable asset to any team.
The player was traded to the Brooklyn Nets prior to the Trade Deadline, but was subsequently released by the New York team. The Suns quickly took advantage of this opportunity to add depth to their interior game and provide their roster with an extra dose of veteran leadership at key moments of the season.
In addition to interest in Young, the Suns are also reportedly interested in small-forward Danilo Gallinari, who was recently cut by the Detroit Pistons. Gallinari, a 16-year NBA veteran, would provide the Suns with a threat from the perimeter and a versatile option in the team's rotation.
With these moves, the Suns (31-22) are looking to solidify their position in the Western Conference and strengthen their roster heading into the playoffs. Their next challenge will be to face the Sacramento Kings (30-22) and Detroit Pistons (8-44) in a series of games before the All-Star break.
